Pedro Chincay Ramos

Pedro is a member of Sol&Café since 2014, and is a member of the CAFEMAN Association in the town of Mandinga in San Ignacio about 3 hours away from Jaén. In this time Pedro has demonstrated to be a committed member and perserverent in order to obtain a higher cup quality. He takes utmost care day after day of the quality of his coffee, following cultural and tecnical recomendations on behalf of the Sol & Café technical team.

Pedro was born in the town of El Chaupe, Distrito Carmen de la Frontera, Provincia Huambamba, in the región of Piura. Currently he lives in the town of Mandinga, in the province of San Ignacio, he is 36 years old, with three children. His farm is named el Romerillo, for the endangered native tree found in the área. He is very aware of the importance of conserving this species in his farm. In all his work, Pedro is accompanied by his wife, Dilcia García Pusma, who supports him in his activities at home, and supervises all post-harvest activities, in order to obtain quality coffee. Coffee growing is a family tradition, involving a lot of dedication and sacrifice, but finally rewarded through an excellent cup. Pedro and his family are proud of this, and are motivated to continue working in coffee.
