Twongerekawa Coko

Founded in 2009, the Twongerekawa Coko cooperative is made up of 204 members,169 of whom are women. It is located in the Coko sector of Rwanda's Gakenke District in Northern Province.

Twongerekawa Coko originated from an initiative by coffee experts and large-scale farmers dedicated to producing high-quality coffee from farms situated on Rwanda’s hillsides. The cooperative focuses on targeted farming activities aimed at maximizing production and is led by female president Therese Nyrangwabije. Members of the cooperative benefit from training in best agricultural practices and professional coffee washing station processing techniques, all aimed at ensuring the best possible returns for farmers. Overall, Twongerekawa Coko is dedicated to the development of its members and the community at large, primarily through the cultivation of coffee crops, with a focus on enhancing both quality and quantity of production.
